Worksheets from CK04 to MORE/Progress book

Hey peeps,

I often use worksheets for my classes and I find that they are very useful to make the kids review their spelling/letter order/sentence structure.(I already have a lot of worksheets done you can check the dropbox:Haishu/Cool ppts/Nancy Powers)

I usually give out a worksheet at the end of a class (CK04 to CL03) to allow me some time to do the progress books. In my higher level classes there is always some book work time so I can fill out the progress books during that time.I still do worksheets for the CL04 to MORE classes because there will always be some kids who finish their book work first and I want them to be reviewing their English instead of just waiting for the other kids to finish.

I use the sentence scramble and crossword for my high level classes.
I use wordsearch and word scramble for my lower level classes

I find it useful to really take the time to look at each kids progress book. I have the TA mark their homework and spelling tests in them. If the kid doesn't do his homework call him out and ask him why. If a kid always has poor spelling test scores I chat about how they are studying or when they are studying English.I encourage the kid to at least have 1 out of four the next week (it has worked). I take the time to praise the kids individually if they speak more in class or if their spelling is better. If a kid misbehaves I take the time to talk him.

I also ask the TA to write in Chinese in the progress book anything I say to the kids so the parents can see( the parents are supposed to sign the progress book).
