CP and CK learning to write the ABCs Empty CP and CK learning to write the ABCs

Hello,

When I teach the kids how to write the ABC's I always have a powerpoint with 4 lines. The kids can practice how to write directly on the board.

Before I give the kids the pen they first have to show me they know how to do the letter.

1-Show the kids the stroke order for the letter
2-Make the kids do the letter with their finger midair in while counting the strokes out loud.
3-Show the kids between which lines you need to write the letter
ex: A is between 1 and 3 and a is between 2 and 3.
3-FT writes the letter on the whiteboard and asks the kids to say Yes! if I did it correctly or No ! if it's wrong. (You can do the wrong stroke order or between the wrong lines)
Draw funny things like a happy face or a monkey within the lines instead of the letter to make them laugh as well.

I often use this website to do the powerpoint:http://handwritingforkids.com/handwrite/manuscript/alphabets/index.htm

Once they get to the board they know how to write the letter perfectly ;D
If they don't remember how to do it once they get to their literacy books tell them they
can always refer to the top of the page with the numbers on the letters.

hope this helps

peace
