CK02 learning the colors

Hey guys,
When the kids start learning the colors it's the first time they have to learn full words but they don't know all the phonics yet by now. This means that unlike CK03 they can't really read the words by sounding them out.
At that age they can recognize shapes so this is how I teach them red:
1-write the word on the board and tell them it is the color red.
2-outline the shape of the word and erase the letters inside.This looks like an L lying on it's back.
3-I play games where they have to associate the shape of the word to the word red.
4-Once you teach them the second color (yellow) you can play games where they have to match the shapes of the words to the letter words.(Yellow is longer and weirder looking than red)
